Body Meringue Bath Whip
I am in love with this product and the new scent Violet! I wanted to make something like a shaving cream for summer and this is it! It's soft, fluffy and has a thick lather. I LOVE it and so will you! The formula has a low PH so it is a gentle cleanser on sensitive skin. I whip and whip with a hand mixer until it is light and fluffy like a Meringue. It can be used as a soap or a shaving cream. I tried a new scent I received as a sample and absolutely love it....Violet is the name. It's a great scent for someone who likes floral but not the overwhelming scent of flowers. This scent is light and sweet! I think I like it more than Lilac...I know crazy huh? You will have to try it and see for yourself! Here are some pics...

Top seller!
This is my top seller all year...Citrus Splash. I am always out of this soap and it by far takes the longest to make of all my soaps. It's a three step process and I wanted to share some pictures of my most recent batch. Citrus Splash anyone?

Soapmaking kid style...
Sooooo, I was asked by the director of my twins Montessori school if I would consider coming and teaching a soap class to some of the elementary kids. Uh...sure! How on earth do you teach soap to someone and keep them interested? Hmmm. I LOVE to make soap but realize not everyone shares my passion. I needed to make it fun, productive and something that would spark the little soaper in everyone. The first soap we made was a great way for the kids to express their individuality. We used soap embeds(different color shapes of soap) and embedded them in a loaf soap. Loaf soap is exactly what the name implies...it's a loaf of soap that you slice into individual bars just like you slice bread. The kids were able to choose what and how much of the embeds they wanted, the color of the loaf soap and a scent. It was so amazing to see the kids smelling the different scents and playing with the different colors. Not one of the children did the same design. If they used the same color it was not scented the same or the color of the embeds was different. It was crazy to see that by the age of 6 or 7 years that they had already developed into unique and individual little beings.
The next soap we did was a toy embed and I have a picture of these I will share but forgot to get a picture of the loaf soap project. i am so bummed because they were super cute! :(
We also made homemade laundry detergent. It was super fun but I really respect the Teacher's who spend their days with kids and just wish I could borrow some of their energy. Kids...I hope you enjoyed your soap class and keep on soaping!!!!

Felted Soap Fun!
I am totally in love with felted soap. what is felted soap you ask...it's when you take wool and felt it directly to soap so it can be used as a washcloth soap combo all in one. I found the cutest little farm who hand dies their Merino wool and sells it on line. I use this wool an felt it to my Olive & Coconut cold process soap. I scent it in Citrus and Jasmine which is a BB dupe which they call "Energy" It is a great gender neutral scent and I have found that all customers like this scent. I make my cold process soap and let it cure for 6 weeks then test it out in the shower. If the batch is good it will be felted. Once the soap is felted and dried I wrap it in a cello bag, bow and handmade tag. Then just get the bar wet and give it a little squeeze and when the lather starts to appear through the felt you can scrub away. It makes a great exfoliator and not to mention it's pretty darn trippy looking! Enjoy a few pics from my last felting fun day!...

Latest Greatest!
I've had a couple batches that didn't quite turn out as planned...so what's a girl to do...rebatch. Rebatching soap is also called French Milled or Hand Milled Soap. You take the cold process soap you have made and grate it down by hand...then you melt it adding a small amount of liquid(I use Goats Milk)...then add some more oils. This makes the soap very moisturizing and is why this soap is so popular. The trade off is a little less lather but a lot more moisture. So...my latest greatest is my Hand Milled Goats Milk Soap with added Sweet Almond Oil in "Peppermint Twist." I used my savvy Christmas stamp for some extra bling. What do you think?

Soaping Soap Queen Style!
Today I watched some Soap Queen videos and got motivated to do some soaping. I tried her soap stamp project and found it a lot more difficult than she makes it seem. Here is my final product but it didn't turn out exactly like her masterpiece. I call it Friendship soap.
